These two fabric samples are based upon a similiar composition but have been interpreted differently when translated into stitch and applique. I have tried to vary the thickness and type of thread used within the pieces to offer different linear qualities. With the first image particularly I have tried to use stitch to capture the tonal qualities of the original drawing. In this piece I am also experimenting with the use of applique to bring hints of colour within the design.
